Kayleigh Bates
Head Coach, Director of Skating OperationsKayleigh began her skating journey with SLSC at the age of 5, and stepped into the world of coaching just over a decade later. She is passionate about providing individuals of all ages and abilities the chance to embrace the sport of figure skating. Kayleigh currently works alongside the SLSC coaching team as the Lead Coach for the STAR Senior and CanSkate programs, and serves as Director of Skating Programs.
Aubrey Bates
CanSkate, Junior StarSkate CoachI have been a member of the skating club for 17 years as a skater and now as the lead STAR 1-4 coach. One of the main reasons I became a coach was to help the skaters reach and achieve higher goals than they thought were possible. It is wonderful to experience and be apart of training the next generation of SLSC athletes.
Emma Bates
CanSkate Junior StarSkate Off-ice Lead CoachI have been apart of the Sioux Lookout Skating club for many years as a skater and now I have the pleasure to help coach and develop the next generation of the club. This year I am the lead off-ice coach which means I am in charge of the physical literacy of our skaters. Our off ice program focuses on developing the skaters athletic abilities through games and fun.
Ruth Broderick
CanSkate, Junior StarSkateGoing on 12 years with this club and am still in love with the sport, the artistry and musicality of skating is what I've always passionate about. My ambition as a coach is to share my love of self-expression and dance with the skaters and encourage them to find their own skating styles.
Laine Helbling
CanSkate, AdultSkate CoachA dedicated CanSkate and AdultSkate coach, Laine has been passionate about skating since first stepping on the ice in the early 90's. As a lifelong fan of the sport, she loves helping skaters of all ages build confidence, develop strong fundamentals, and discover their own joy on the ice.
